Eternity rings are given after wedding rings as a symbol of eternal love and companionship. Although there is no set date to give an eternity ring; they are often given as a first wedding anniversary present, or in conjunction with another significant event in marriage. The common theme of eternity rings is that they are gem set. The metal and gems can differ and can include gold, silver, white gold and platinum. Diamonds are still the most popular gem choice but Emeralds and Rubies are still popular.
Full Eternity Rings
The most traditional style of eternity ring is a full eternity ring. This is a ring that has gems set all the way around the band. Although these rings are visually stunning, they have a number of drawbacks. Firstly, full eternity rings cannot be resized. Secondly, they are 2 to 3 times more expensive than their alternative - the half eternity ring.
Half Eternity Rings
Half eternity rings are becoming increasingly more popular. They are by far the best option for people looking for cheap eternity rings, but they are often chosen by those with larger budgets. Half rings only have gems on the top half of the ring. Although this is not the traditional style, they provide maximum exposure of the gems, resulting in rings that are visually stunning whilst still remaining affordable for all.
